This Cookie Policy explains how CitadelAero, the trading name of JLEC Limited ("we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies across citadelaero.com and demo.citadelaero.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep you signed in securely, and to provide information to site owners. "Similar technologies" include local storage and comparable mechanisms that store or read information on your device.

Cookies may be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a provider we use, such as our payment provider). They may be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain until they expire or you delete them).

2. How we use cookies

We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. We group the cookies used across our website and platform into the following categories:

Strictly necessary cookies

These are essential for our website and platform to operate and cannot be switched off. They include the authentication session and CSRF-protection cookies used when you sign in to the platform (at your operator subdomain or demo.citadelaero.com), and a cookie that remembers your cookie preferences. Because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested, they do not require consent.

Payment cookies

When you start a checkout from our pricing page, our payment provider, Paddle, sets cookies that are necessary to process the transaction securely and to help prevent fraud. These are set by Paddle and are subject to Paddle's own cookie policy. They are only set if you begin a checkout.

Analytics cookies

With your prior consent, requested through our cookie banner, we use website analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use citadelaero.com so we can improve it:

Vercel Analytics— anonymised, cookieless page-view tracking provided by our hosting platform. Does not set any cookies on your device.
Google Analytics 4— aggregate site-usage analytics. Sets the first-party _ga identifier on citadelaero.com.
Microsoft Clarity— heatmaps and aggregate session recordings. Sets first-party _clck and _clskcookies on citadelaero.com, plus third-party identifiers on Microsoft domains — notably MUID, alongside ANONCHK, CLID, MR, SRM_B, and SRM_I. These Microsoft identifiers are also used across Bing and Microsoft Ads (see Microsoft advertising identifiers below).

These cookies are only set if you accept analytics through the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in our footer.

Microsoft advertising identifiers (set via Clarity)

Microsoft Clarity sets identifiers — most notably MUID— that Microsoft uses across its broader services, including Bing and Microsoft Ads. This is a Microsoft platform behaviour we cannot disable while Clarity is loaded; if you accept analytics cookies, those identifiers are set on your device.

We use Clarity for site analytics only. We do not run Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or any other paid advertising at this time, and we do not target ads or audiences using Clarity data. However, we cannot prevent Microsoft from using MUID across its own services. If you prefer to avoid this, decline analytics in the cookie banner.

Other advertising & tracking cookies

Other than the Microsoft identifiers described above, we do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data.

4. Consent and managing your preferences

Strictly necessary and payment cookies do not require consent because they are essential to providing a service you have requested. For any non-essential cookies (such as analytics, if and when we introduce them), we will ask for your consent first and you will be able to accept or decline, and to change your decision later.

You can also control cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you:

see what cookies are stored and delete them individually or all at once;
block third-party cookies, or all cookies, from being set; and
be warned before a cookie is stored.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the platform (such as signing in) from working. Guidance for managing cookies is available in your browser's help pages.

5. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by the third-party providers we use. We do not control these cookies, and they are governed by the relevant provider's own policies. The providers that may set cookies in connection with our website are listed in the table above; a complete list of the sub-processors we use is set out in our Privacy Policy.

6. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
