Regulatory AI Intelligence
Ask an aviation-regulation question, get a cited answer from the actual rules — across FAA, EASA and the UK.
Meet Chuck
A regulatory assistant that shows its working
Chuck is the assistant inside Regulatory AI Intelligence — CitadelAero’s managed AI, working over a curated corpus of aviation regulation rather than the open web. It answers from the rule text, cites what it used, and tells you when the corpus doesn’t cover your question.
How it works
Ask a question, read the answer, check the sources it was built from.
- 01
Ask in plain language
"Do I have to report this occurrence, and to whom?" No rule numbers, no boolean search syntax — ask it the way you would ask a colleague.
- 02
Chuck retrieves the rules
The question is matched against the regulatory corpus for the frameworks your organisation is entitled to, pulling the passages that actually bear on it.
- 03
Read the answer beside its sources
The answer appears with a Sources panel: each cited passage, weighted by how much it informed the answer, and dated to the amendment it came from. Follow any citation back to the original text.
How do alcohol limits for flight crew differ between the FAA, EASA and the UK?
Chuck
- FAA — no alcohol within 8 hours of flight, and a blood-alcohol concentration below 0.04%.114 CFR 91.17
- EASA — no duty within 8 hours of consuming alcohol; blood-alcohol limit 0.2 g/L.2CAT.GEN.MPA.170
- UK — a prescribed limit of 20 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, one quarter of the general driving limit.3ANO 2016, art. 91
All three set an 8-hour floor and a low BAC ceiling; the UK and EASA limits are stricter than the FAA’s.
Built for the people who answer to the regulator
Five post-holder perspectives, each asking the rulebook a different set of questions.
What operators use it for
How it sits alongside the SMS platform: CitadelAero’s SMS runs your safety processes — reports, risk, audits, training. Regulatory AI Intelligence answers the regulations behind them. They are sold separately and work well together. Explore the SMS Platform.
