Can it tell me whether a pilot is current?

Accepted Answer

It will tell you what the recency and currency requirements are, cited to the provision that sets them, and what conditions keep a licence or rating valid. It answers the regulatory question — it is not connected to your crew records and does not hold anybody's licence data, so the check against a named individual stays with you.

Does it cover training organisations as well as operators?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Approved Training Organisations under Part-ORA are within the remit alongside operator training and checking under ORO.FC, and there is a workflow for drafting an ATO training-course outline. FAA 14 CFR Parts 61, 141 and 142 are cross-referenced where an organisation works across both frameworks.

Does it answer from the actual regulation, or from what the model remembers?

From the regulation. In grounded mode every regulatory question goes through a retrieval step against a curated corpus, and the answer is built from the passages it returns — each cited by its own label, with its legal weight and amendment state. Chuck is instructed never to answer a regulatory question from memory, and where the corpus does not cover the point it says so rather than guessing.

Which regulatory frameworks are covered?

FAA (14 CFR), EASA (Implementing and Delegated Regulations, AMC/GM and CS), the UK CAA (Air Navigation Order, Rules of the Air, assimilated EU regulations) and 2-REG. Your organisation is entitled to specific frameworks and the retrieval is filtered to them, so an operator entitled to FAA and EASA is never served UK provisions as though they applied.

Does it understand that FAA and EASA rules are different?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it is instructed not to blur them. Chuck says which framework governs, will not apply an FAA rule to an EASA operator or the reverse, and compares frameworks only where you actually operate across more than one. It also leads with binding regulation and treats AMC and guidance material as a means of compliance rather than the rule itself.

Can it read our own manuals and procedures?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Documents uploaded to your organisation's library are read alongside the regulation corpus, so an answer can set what your exposition says next to what the rule requires. Scanned pages are OCR'd on the way in. The library is scoped to your organisation and readable only inside it.

Question 7

Is our data used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

No. Your questions, your uploaded documents and the answers returned are never used as training data — a contractual commitment, and our model provider is held to zero data retention.
